Ty Chiko
Ty Chiko is known as one of the premier voices of the Bahamas
Currently, Ty is completing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree at Arizona State University.
He is also one of the 2021 Arizona State University Concerto Competition Winners and has been featured twice on National Public Radio KJZZ and has appeared on notable podcasts and radio shows. Ty competed as one of fifteen finalists for the prestigious Lotte Lenya Vocal Competition, through the Kurt Weill Foundation and is a recipient of the Artist Opportunity Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts. Most recently, Ty partnered with State Farm Insurance and Boom Percussion Entertainment on a film project that highlighted NBA superstar and fellow Bahamian, DeAndre Ayton. Ty is passionate about youth advocacy and volunteers yearly for the Amputee Coalition of America as a Summer Camp Counselor. Currently, Ty is an Artist in Residence at the Portland Opera in Portland, Oregon.
